Mahesh Textiles

Surat is a city that never stops, especially when it comes to fabric, and we are right in the middle of it at Mahesh Textiles. Our place is located at P-153 in the Old GIDC area of Katargam. It’s a neighborhood that’s been built on the textile trade for generations. When you walk into our unit, the first thing you notice is the sound of the machines and the sheer amount of cloth everywhere. We have rolls of fabric stacked up against the walls and loose threads all over the floor. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We aren't some high-end boutique; we are a working textile unit where the work is messy and constant. The lighting isn't the best, but we know the machines by touch and sound. We deal with various types of yarns and weaves throughout the week. The humidity in Surat helps keep the threads from breaking too often, which is one good thing about the weather here. We have a small group of workers who are like family, and we’ve been working in the Old GIDC for a long time. There is a lot of competition around here, but we just focus on our own looms and our own orders. It’s a simple life of measuring, cutting, and weaving day after day. We don't have a big marketing team, just our work.
