If you are looking for us, we are up on the first floor of the B L Ruia Chawl on Kasturba Road. It is right near Ruia Hall, which is a big landmark around here. Working out of a chawl means space is tight and things can get pretty cramped, but we make it work for our production. We have been at number 19 for some time. The stairs are a bit narrow, so carrying materials up and finished products down takes some effort. We don’t have a big factory floor, just this one-floor setup where we put everything together. It is a lot of hands-on work. You can hear the sounds of the tools and people talking while they work throughout the day. It is a practical environment, nothing fancy or decorated. We focus on making our products right here in the middle of the local bustle. Sometimes the power acts up or the rain makes things damp, but that is part of being in an old building. We know our neighbors and the other small businesses nearby. It is a community feeling. We just keep our heads down and get the orders finished. Most of our customers have been coming to us for a long time because they know we are just regular folks working hard in a small space. We do our best with what we have and keep moving forward.
