Alen Industries

Alen Industries is over at 2 Eagle Estate. We are on Anil Starch Road in Bapunagar. This is a real industrial heartland. There are factories and workshops as far as you can see. The smell of the starch factory nearby is something you get used to after a week. Our unit in Eagle Estate is a decent size. We have been here for several years. Bapunagar is a tough place but the people are hardworking. We fit right in. We manufacture various items. The machines are the most important part of our day. We spend a lot of time maintaining them. If a machine goes down, everything stops. So we are very careful. The office is just a small corner with a table and a couple of chairs. We don't have a secretary. One of us usually answers the phone if we can hear it over the noise. It is a dusty environment. We keep the doors open to let the air circulate, but that just lets more dust in. It’s a trade-off. We have a small group of workers who live nearby. We know their families. It feels more like a small community than a company. We don't have a big mission. We just want to produce our goods and make sure the bills are paid. It is a straightforward life. Anil Starch Road is always full of surprises, usually in the form of a broken-down truck. We just keep going.
