Vijay Polymers

Over at Vijay Polymers, we work out of unit F/4 in the Himalaya Industrial Estate, located at 110/2/2. It’s a standard industrial unit, nothing fancy to look at from the outside or the inside. We’ve got our machines set up and they run for most of the day, making that steady rhythmic sound you hear in these kinds of places. Working with polymers means we deal with a lot of heat and specific smells, but it’s what we’ve been doing for years now. The industrial estate is a busy hub, so there’s always a truck backing in or someone unloading crates nearby. We don’t have a big office staff; usually, it’s just one or two of us handling the paperwork while the rest are on the floor. It can get pretty cramped when we have a big order ready to go out, with boxes stacked up nearly to the ceiling. We don’t try to make the place look like a corporate headquarters because that’s not what we are. We’re a small outfit that focuses on getting the production right. Sometimes we stay late to finish a batch, and other times we’re just doing maintenance on the equipment to keep things running smooth. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows their job and we just get on with it without much talk. We like the consistency of the work and being part of the Himalaya estate community. It’s just how we earn our living, one day at a time, making things that people actually use.
