D K Apparls Industries Pvt. Ltd. is situated out in Village Rakholi at S. No. 145/3/2. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but it’s where we have our setup for making clothes. The building is a regular industrial unit and inside you will hear the constant sound of sewing machines running from the morning until we close up. We handle a lot of fabric rolls every day, moving them from the trucks into the cutting area and then over to the stitching lines. It gets pretty loud when all the machines are going at once, but that is just how a garment factory works. The workers here are mostly from the local area around Rakholi and they know the job well. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that because we prefer to spend our time on the floor seeing how the pieces are coming together. Sometimes the power goes out in the village and we have to wait a bit or use the generator to keep things moving. It isn't a glamorous business, just a lot of thread, needles, and piles of finished items waiting to be packed and sent out. We stay busy with different orders throughout the year, depending on what people are wearing. The air smells a bit like new cloth and machine oil most days. We just keep our heads down and get the stitching done.
