About Shri Vishwakarama Rubber Ind – Chemicals in Ahmedabad
Vatva GIDC is a massive place, and we are tucked away at Plot No 1901 /A in Phase 3. Working with rubber means there is always a certain scent in the air, kind of like a tire shop but much stronger. We have these big presses that use a lot of heat to mold the rubber into different shapes. It gets really hot in the middle of the day, so we have these large industrial fans that mostly just move the warm air around. We make all sorts of things, from gaskets to small stoppers and custom parts for other factories nearby. The floor is solid concrete and usually has a few scuffs from the heavy molds we move around. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just focus on getting the rubber mix right so the parts don't crack. My office is just a small corner with a window looking out onto the shop floor so I can see what’s happening. We get our raw materials delivered in big blocks and then we cut them down to size. There’s a lot of manual labor involved, lifting and stacking and trimming the edges of the finished pieces. It’s a noisy environment with the hiss of the machines and the clanging of metal, but it’s where we spend our lives. We’ve been here in Phase 3 for a long time.
