Balaji Repair Works

Our shop is down in Botimidithanda. It is a small place. We deal with broken things every day. The workshop is dusty. Tools are everywhere. Sometimes parts take a while to get here. People bring in pumps or motors. We just try to get it done. It is a lot of manual work. My hands are usually black from oil. The fan in the corner barely works in summer. We open early when the light is good. There is no fancy lobby or anything. Just a bench and some old spare parts lying in the corner. If something stops working, people walk over here. It has been like this for a long time in Narayanapuram Mandal. We do not have a computer system to track jobs. I write things down in a notebook with a blue pen. Jangam is a quiet spot, but the noise of the machines keeps us busy. We do not use big words here. If a bolt is stuck, we find a way to move it. Most days are long and tiring. It gets hot under the roof. Sometimes a customer brings tea while they wait. That is how it goes. We just try to fix what is brought to us. The floor is concrete and has some cracks. You learn to live with the mess of a workshop. We have been in this spot for years. The road outside is unpaved and the dust comes inside when the wind blows.
