Sujatha Block Printers is located at H. No. 5-91 in Puttapaka. Most people who know about fabric know that Puttapaka and Narayanapur are famous for this kind of work. We aren't a big factory with machines doing everything. We do things by hand here. You can see the ink stains on our fingers most of the time. The workshop is usually full of long tables and the smell of dye. We spend hours leaning over the cloth, making sure the blocks are lined up just right. It’s tiring work for the back and the eyes, but it’s what we’ve been doing for a long time. The rhythm of the wooden block hitting the table is the sound of our daily life. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights. We just have our workspace and the places where we hang the fabric to dry. When the wind blows through Narayanapur, you can see the long stretches of cloth moving. It’s a practical business. We don't spend time on fancy advertising.
