Ashok Polymers (India)

You can find us at Plot No. 447 in Phase-2 of GIDC, Vatva. Ashok Polymers (India) is basically a place where we deal with plastic all day. The smell is something you get used to after a week or so. We have these big extruders that run day and night. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the rolls of material and the bags waiting to be picked up. Vatva is a crowded industrial area, so there’s always noise from the street. We have a small team of about ten people. We all do a bit of everything, from running the machines to loading the trucks. There’s no such thing as "not my job" here. If something needs moving, we move it. The office is just a glass-walled corner in the warehouse. It’s not quiet, but it works for us. We drink a lot of water because it gets so humid. Sometimes the machines break down and we spend half the night fixing them. That’s just part of the business. We don’t have a website or a marketing person. Most of our work comes from people who have been buying from us for years. They know where we are and what we do. We just keep the machines running and try to stay on top of the orders. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know.
