Out here in Ranpur, life moves at a bit of a different pace. Bhal Nalkantha Khadi is part of the local landscape, tucked away within the Khadi Gramodyog Mandal. We spend our time working with thread and cloth, following the old ways of doing things. It isn't a fast process, but that's okay. We don't have fancy marketing or big displays. People around here know where we are and what we do. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit when the breeze picks up, but mostly we are inside focused on the looms. It’s quiet work, mostly, except for the rhythmic sounds of the machinery and people chatting about their families. We handle the cotton and the wool, making sure things are done properly according to the traditional methods we were taught. It’s important to keep these skills alive in the village. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just making cloth for people who appreciate the feel of something handmade. It’s a quiet, steady life for us in Ranpur, and we are quite content with that.
