About Surabhi Pattern Industries – Metals & Minerals in Rajkot
Our workshop is at Plot No. G-1830, near the Kishan Gate on Road L in the Lodhika GIDC. This area is full of foundries and engineering shops, and we fit right in. We make patterns, which are the models used to create molds for metal casting. It’s a mix of old-school craftsmanship and some basic machining. We work with wood, aluminum, and sometimes plastics. The floor is usually covered in sawdust or metal shavings. It’s a hands-on job where you have to be careful with measurements. If the pattern is off by even a little bit, the whole casting will be ruined. We have a few skilled guys who are really good with their hands. They can look at a drawing and know exactly how to carve it out. We don’t do any big advertising. People in the GIDC know where we are. They bring us their designs, and we get to work. Sometimes we’re working late to finish a complex pattern for a big client. It’s a dusty, noisy life, but there is something satisfying about seeing a finished pattern ready for the foundry. We don’t have any polished sales pitches. We just let the work speak for itself. If someone needs a pattern made, they come find us at the shop. We’ve been here a long time and plan to stay for a lot longer.
