We’ve got our shop at Plot No. L-124 in the Gidc area. It’s a straightforward operation here at Fair Fasteners. We spend most of our time dealing with bits of metal and making sure everything is sized right. The bins are full of stock and sometimes it feels like we’re drowning in small parts, but we know where everything is. It’s a noisy place with the constant sound of metal hitting metal, so we don't do much talking while the machines are going. We have a small office tucked into the corner, but it’s mostly just for keeping the books and having a seat for a few minutes. The concrete floor is cracked in a few places from when we moved the heavy equipment in years ago. We don’t bother fixing it because it doesn’t get in the way of the work. Our neighbors at the Gidc are good people, and we often help each other out with small things. We don't have any big speeches about what we do. We just make fasteners and try to keep the orders moving out on time. The sun hits the front of the building in the morning, so it’s usually the brightest part of the day. We’re just regular people working a regular job at our plot. It’s not complicated, and we like it that way. Just steady work every single day until the job is done.
