Swathi Art Printers

Swathi Art Printers is located at Plot No 73 in the Aleap Industrial Estate over in Praghathi Nagar. It’s a busy little corner. You can usually hear the sound of the printing presses from the street. There is always the smell of ink and paper in the air here. It sticks to your clothes by the end of the shift. We spend our days loading paper, checking the colors, and making sure the edges are cut straight. It’s not always easy work and sometimes the machines act up when we have a big job to finish. We just fix them and keep moving. The estate is quite crowded so parking is always a bit of a gamble. Most of us just walk or take the bus. We have a small table in the corner where we keep the kettle for tea. It’s where we sit and talk about the news or what happened over the weekend. The lighting isn’t great but it’s enough to see what we are doing. We’ve been in Praghathi Nagar for a long time and have seen the area change a lot. Newer buildings are going up all around us but our shop stays pretty much the same. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s just stacks of boxes and finished prints waiting to be picked up. We focus on the work in front of us and try to get it right the first time.
