Gopal Dairy Farm

The day starts really early here in Vankudoth Thanda Village. Usually, it is still dark out when we head over to the farm area at house 1-19. You can hear the cows moving around and the clanking of the metal milk cans. It’s part of the Ramkya Thanda GP in the Urban Mandal, so it’s a specific spot people know if they live around District 507 182. There is always a lot of cleaning to do, making sure the stalls are okay and the feed is ready. It’s physical work that leaves your clothes smelling like the farm, but that’s just how it goes. We spend a lot of time checking on the animals and making sure they are doing alright. When the sun comes up, the whole village starts to wake up, and things get a bit busier. We don't use many machines for the small stuff, mostly doing things by hand like we always have. Sometimes the weather makes it hard, especially when it rains a lot and the paths get muddy, but the work doesn't stop. People from the nearby houses come by to get what they need. We usually have a bit of a chat while we work. It’s not a complicated life, just keeping things running and making sure the dairy is handled right every single morning. The farm has been part of this village for a long time and we plan to keep it that way.
