Being over at Plot No. 312 in Phase-1 of the GIDC Estate means you hear the hum of the printing presses all day long. Ravish Print Pack is mostly about the ink and the paper. My clothes usually have a few spots of bright color on them by the time noon rolls around. It is hard to keep things clean when you are working with these kinds of machines. We have piles of cardboard and paper stacked up everywhere you look. Sometimes it feels a bit like a maze in here. We spend a lot of our time checking the colors to make sure they are not coming out too light or too dark for the job. If a machine jams, everything stops, and we all have to huddle around to clear out the paper bits. It is frustrating but it happens more than you would think. The morning starts with a lot of noise as the power comes on and things start spinning up. We get a lot of deliveries, and the narrow roads around Phase-1 can make it tricky for the truck drivers to turn around. There is a guy who brings around snacks in the afternoon, which is usually the best part of the shift for us. We do not have fancy chairs or a big lobby for visitors. It is just a workshop where we get the printing done. People come in with their designs, and we see what we can do. It is just steady, daily work.
