Textiles

We've been at O. 25- N for a while now. It's just a small shop where we deal with different fabrics and cloth. Mostly, people from the neighborhood stop by when they need something specific for a project or just regular wear. My family started this because we knew how to handle threads and looms. It's not a fancy place, just stacks of material everywhere. Some days are quiet, others we're busy cutting pieces all afternoon. We don't have a big sign outside. You just find us near the corner. It gets a bit dusty with all the lint flying around, but that’s how it goes in the textile trade. We try to keep the basics in stock. If someone asks for a color we don't have, we see if we can get it by next week. It's mostly just us working here, making sure the measurements are right. Sometimes the rolls of fabric get heavy to move around. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years, but we stay right here. It’s a simple living. We don't do much advertising, just word of mouth really. Most of the people who come in have been buying from us for a long time. We know their names and what they usually like. It keeps us going every day. The shelves are a bit crooked and we could probably use some new lighting, but it works for what we do. We just keep the scissors sharp and the fabric organized.
