Anmol Girls Hostel

We run this hostel at Sri Lekha Apartments in Gunfoundry. It’s Flat No. 103. Mostly it is just us looking after the girls who stay here for studies or work. The building is older, but it stays fairly quiet despite the city noise outside. We spend a lot of time cleaning the rooms and making sure the kitchen has what it needs for the day. Sometimes the water pump acts up, so we have to go down and check it. Our day starts early, usually before the sun is really up, getting things ready. Gunfoundry is a busy area, so there is always someone coming or going. We keep a register at the door to see who is in. The furniture is simple, just beds and some cupboards we bought a few years back. Some girls have been here for a long time, so they feel like family now. We talk about their exams or their jobs while they have breakfast. It is not a fancy place, but it is home for them while they are away from their parents. We try to keep the lights working and the fans moving. Sometimes the internet is slow, and everyone complains at once. We just do our best to fix it. Life here is mostly about these small daily things, like making sure the gate is locked at night and the milk is delivered on time in the morning.
