Ajay Laundry Shop

My shop, Ajay Laundry Shop, is at H.No:-1-109 in Adavi Rangapur. We are in the Duggondi area. It is a simple place with a few washing tubs and ironing boards. You can usually smell the soap and the steam from the iron as soon as you walk near the door. I’ve been doing this for a long time. People bring their clothes in bundles, and I spend the day washing, drying, and pressing them. It’s heavy work, especially when there are big bedsheets or curtains to handle. I use the coal irons for some things because they hold the heat well. The shop is small and the walls have some marks from all the steam over the years. My family helps when there is a lot of laundry after a festival or a wedding in the village. We hang the clothes out to dry on the lines behind the house when the sun is out. If it rains, everything takes much longer and the shop gets very crowded with wet fabric. I don’t have a computer or anything, I just write the names down in a notebook. People in Adavi Rangapur know me and they know where to bring their clothes. It’s a quiet life, just me and the sound of the iron. I try to get everything back to the customers on time because people need their clothes for work.
