Maruti Suzuki

Working at 1 Nelson Mandela Road in Vasant Kunj is quite an experience. This is where we handle a lot of the administrative and operational stuff for Maruti Suzuki. It is a big building, and there are always people moving around, from the security guards at the gate to the folks in the various departments upstairs. Vasant Kunj is a busy area, so the morning commute can be a bit much sometimes, but once you are inside the building, things are pretty organized. We deal with a lot of paperwork, coordination, and phone calls throughout the day. It is not all about the cars themselves; it is about making sure everything runs like it should behind the scenes for the whole country. We have a lot of different people working here, from youngsters just starting their first jobs to old-timers who have seen the company grow for many decades. The lunchroom is usually where you hear the most talk about what is going on in the car industry. It is a professional place, but it has its own local rhythm. We do not spend much time on fancy talk; there is always a long list of things to get through before the day ends. Some evenings the sun sets over the main road and it looks quite nice through the big windows, but usually, we are too busy to notice. It is a major landmark in the area, and we are just here doing our part.
