You can find us at New Friends Colony in Attapur, at address 3/5/11/5. Our shop is packed from floor to ceiling with all kinds of stuff. We have notebooks, pens, pencils, and those big chart papers that students always need at the last minute for their projects. It is a bit of a tight squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. We spend our days unpacking boxes and putting things on the shelves. Sometimes we can't find a specific eraser or a certain type of glue right away because there is just so much stock. The local kids come in after school and it gets quite noisy for an hour or two. We have a small counter where we sit and wait for customers. The sun hits the front of the shop in the afternoon, so it gets a little warm. We know most of the families living in the colony because they’ve been buying from us for a long time. We don't have a computer system, so we just write the prices down and use a calculator. It’s a very local way of doing things. We keep a stash of spare change in a wooden drawer that sticks sometimes. Life is about these small interactions, like helping someone find the right shade of blue pen or a sturdy notebook for their college classes.
