Our place is G 17 in the industrial area over at Panki Site 1. If you come by, you will definitely smell the soap and chemicals before you see the gate. It is a loud place because the machines are usually running all day to mix and pack the detergents. We have a small crew here, mostly locals who have been with us since we started. The floor is always a bit slippery with powder, so you have to watch your step. It is an industrial zone, so it’s dusty and there are trucks moving around all the time. We spend a lot of time loading bags onto the back of lorries. The office is just a small room in the corner where we keep the books and take orders. It gets really dusty during the summer months when the wind picks up. We don't have fancy uniforms or anything, just work clothes that get dirty pretty fast. Sometimes the machinery breaks down and we all have to stop and figure out how to fix it ourselves because waiting for a mechanic takes too long. It is hard work but it keeps us busy. We make sure the batches are done right and sent out to the shops that need them. It’s just a regular factory life with its own set of daily headaches and small wins. We keep the gate open for ventilation and the radio plays in the background.
