If you head over to Shankar Tekri in Jamnagar, you’ll find us at Shed No. 349/1 in the GIDC area, specifically in the Vijay Estate section. Jamnagar is famous for brass work, and we are just one of the many small shops doing our part in that industry. Our shed is usually pretty loud with the sound of metal being worked on, and there’s always that specific smell of brass in the air. It’s a tough job and your hands usually end up pretty dirty by the end of the shift. We’ve been in this location for quite some time now. The Vijay Estate part of GIDC is always crowded with vehicles and people moving parts around. We don’t have any polished office space or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll likely see us right there on the floor with everyone else. We focus on getting the dimensions right and making sure the pieces we make are what they’re supposed to be. It’s not something we talk about in a fancy way; it’s just mechanical work that needs to be done. We appreciate the guys who work with us because they know the machines inside and out. We don’t really bother with websites or big advertisements. Most of our work comes from people we’ve known for years in the local Jamnagar market. It’s a steady, honest way to make a living for all of us.
