A. K. E. Plastic

Our place is located at Plot No. 1012 over in Kerala GIDC, right off the Bavla Highway. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, but being near the highway makes it easier for the trucks to come and go. A. K. E. Plastic has been operating here for some time now. We mainly focus on plastic manufacturing, which means the machines are running pretty much all day long. The noise is something you just get used to after a week or so. It's a dusty area because of all the construction and other factories nearby, but we try to keep our workspace as tidy as we can. Ten of us usually handle the day shift in the workshop. We don’t have a marketing team or a fancy website. Most of our work comes from people who know us or see our sign from the road. Sometimes the raw material prices go up and down, which makes things a bit stressful, but that’s just how this business works. Keeping a spare set of parts for the extruders is necessary because you never know when something might snap. Lunch breaks are usually taken together in the small shade outside. It's not a corporate environment at all. By showing up, doing the work, and heading home, we keep things simple. The Bavla Highway gets quite busy in the evenings, so we try to get the loading done before the traffic gets too heavy. Every day is just a normal operation for us.
