Dilip Kumar Thakur

Out here in Vasant Kunj, things feel a little different than the rest of Delhi. I am Dilip Kumar Thakur, and I am located near Delhi Public School in Pocket 4 and 5. If you know Sector C, you know it’s a busy area with a lot of students and parents moving around all the time. My day usually starts around the same time the school buses begin to arrive. It’s a lot of noise for an hour, then it gets peaceful again. I’ve been working out of this spot for a while now. It’s just a practical space where I can focus. I don’t have any big signs or bright lights. Most people find me because someone else told them where I was. I spend a lot of time at my desk, looking out at the trees or watching the rain when the monsoon finally hits. The office isn't anything special to look at, but it’s mine. I like that I can walk to the local market for lunch and see the same faces every day. It feels like a small village inside a giant city. There’s no big corporate vibe here. Just me and a few papers, trying to keep things organized. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just wait it out. That’s just how life goes in this part of town.
