Sure Packaging

Our unit, G-5, is on the ground floor of the Hind Rajasthan Building on Dadasaheb Phalke Road in Dadar East. If you’ve ever been to Dadar, you know it’s one of the busiest spots you can find. There is always a truck being unloaded or someone rushing by with a handcart. Inside our unit, it’s mostly stacks of cardboard, rolls of tape, and various types of padding. Space is tight, so we’re always moving one pile to get to another. It feels like a bit of a maze sometimes. We spend the day cutting things to size, taping up bundles, and checking addresses. It’s a lot of physical work, and our hands usually have a few small cuts or dry skin from handling all the paper and glue. We don't have a receptionist; if you come by, you’ll probably just see one of us in the middle of packing something. The building itself is old and has that specific smell of old concrete and dust. We keep the lights on late some nights when there’s a big shipment that needs to go out by morning. It isn't glamorous at all, but we take a bit of pride in making sure things are wrapped up tight so they don't break. We just focus on the task in front of us and try to keep things moving despite the heat and the noise of the city outside.
