If you find yourself on Nagdevi Street, you'll see us at number 39. Anamed Instruments has been in this old part of the city for a long time. This street is famous for all sorts of hardware and tools, and it's always packed. You have to watch your step because of the handcarts and the people carrying heavy loads. Our shop is small and every inch of wall space is covered with shelves. We keep all sorts of instruments there. It’s the kind of place where you might have to wait a minute while we find exactly what you’re looking for in one of the back drawers. We don't have any air conditioning or a fancy display window. The front door stays open so we can see what's happening on the street. It’s noisy and dusty, but that’s Nagdevi Street for you. We know most of the other shop owners around here. We spend our days talking to customers who need specific tools for their work. We don't try to sell people things they don't need. Usually, they know exactly what they want when they walk in. We just fetch it from the shelf and write out a bill. Sometimes we sit on the small wooden stools and have a cup of tea while the rain falls outside. It’s a very simple way of doing business. We’ve been here through all sorts of changes in the city, but the shop stays pretty much the same every single year.
