Aaplitai Foundation

Aaplitai Foundation is located in Bhandup West, inside the Kukreja Complex on LBS Road. We are in building 7B, flat 102. It is a very busy part of Mumbai, so there is always something going on outside our windows. We started this because we wanted to help women and families in the area. It is not a big, polished organization. We are just a small team working out of a regular flat. Most of the time, our dining table serves as our main desk for paperwork. We do not have fancy equipment or a receptionist at the front. If the doorbell rings, one of us just gets up to answer it. We spend a lot of time listening to stories from the women who live nearby. Some need help with finding jobs, while others just need someone to talk to for a while. We do what we can. It is not always easy, and some days we feel like we are not making much progress, but we keep at it anyway. We do not use big words or have complicated goals. We just want to make life a little bit easier for the people in Bhandup. We do not spend money on flyers or big ads. People know who we are because we have lived here for years. It is a community thing, and we like it that way. It keeps things simple and real for us.
