Nxtkey is based in Lake Gardens, which is one of the nicer, greener parts of Kolkata. Our office is on the first floor of building LP-113/2/9/2, specifically Flat-2 at 495 Lake Gardens. It used to be a residential flat, so it still has that homey layout with different rooms for different tasks. We like working here because the street outside isn't nearly as loud as the main roads. You can actually hear the birds in the morning, which is a nice change of pace. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit steep, so we always tell people to watch their step. Inside, we’ve turned the main living area into our primary workspace. There is a kitchen in the back where we keep the kettle and some biscuits for the afternoon slump. We didn't do much to change the place when we moved in, so the floors and the windows are still the original style. It’s a comfortable place to spend eight or nine hours a day. Sometimes we work from the balcony if the weather is cool enough, though that doesn't happen very often in this city. There are a few other small businesses in the same building, so we see the same faces in the hallway every day. It’s a low-key environment where we can just get on with things without many distractions. We don’t have a big corporate sign, just a small nameplate by the door.
