K. L. Textiles

You can find K. L. Textiles on the 5th floor of 180, M.G Road. We are right near the Gurudwara, which is a big landmark for everyone around here. Being on the 5th floor means we have to use the lift a lot, and sometimes it’s a bit slow or it’s full of people from the other offices. Our space is filled with fabrics and samples. It’s a bit cramped because we have so many different rolls of cloth stacked up against the walls. M.G Road is always busy, so there’s a lot of honking and noise coming up from the street. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the shops downstairs change many times. We just keep doing our thing with the textiles. It’s a family-run kind of vibe, even if we aren’t all related. We drink a lot of chai while looking over the new patterns. Some days are stressful when the shipments are late or the colors aren’t quite right, but we figure it out. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Most people just come up to see what we have and we pull out the rolls for them. It’s a bit of a workout moving those heavy fabrics around. We like being in this part of town because everything is close by. It’s a hardworking place and we don’t put on any airs about it. We just keep the business moving.
