Vijay Marbles

If you go over toward the Dankuni Housing Complex, you will find us located near the Phoenix Hospital. It is a busy little pocket where people are always coming and going. Vijay Marbles isn't a huge corporate showroom; it is more like a working yard where we keep our stock. We have all kinds of marble slabs sitting out in the open. The weather usually dictates how the day goes. If it’s raining, everything gets slippery and slow. On hot days, the stone gets warm to the touch. Being near the hospital means we try to keep the noise levels down when we can, but moving marble is never a silent job. The trucks arrive and we have to find space for everything in the yard, which can be a bit of a puzzle. We don't have any professional writers or marketing people here, just the staff who know how to handle the stone. Most of our time is spent just checking the quality of the pieces and making sure they get where they need to go. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. You might see us having lunch near the entrance or arguing over where a new load should be placed. It’s a simple business and we like it that way. Most people around here just stop in when they see something they like.
