Our catering place is located at No 10/33 on Neelakanda Mehta Street in T Nagar. If you know Chennai, you know how packed T Nagar can get with shoppers and traffic. We are right in the middle of all that. Srishti Caterer is mostly about the kitchen and getting the food ready for whatever event is happening that day. It smells like spices and steamed rice here most of the morning. I spend a lot of time talking to suppliers and making sure we have enough vegetables and grains. We don't have a big office; it’s more of a functional space where we plan out the meals. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when we are trying to pack everything into the vans to send out. We’ve had days where the rain makes everything difficult, but we still manage to get the food where it needs to go. My staff and I have been doing this for a long time, so we have a rhythm even when things are hectic. We don't use any fancy equipment, just the big pots and stoves that have served us well over the years. People in the 600017 area know us mostly by word of mouth. We don’t do much else besides cook and deliver. It’s hard work, standing on your feet all day, but seeing the empty pots come back at night feels good. We just keep our heads down and keep the stoves burning.
