Located at number 27 on Bund Garden Road, right near Gandhi Bazaar, is Chandhu Engineering Consultancy. It’s a busy area with a lot of history. The building we are in is older, with high windows and those heavy doors that have been painted over a dozen times. Engineering sounds like it should be all high-tech, but a lot of what we do involves sitting around a table with big paper maps and pencils. We have computers, of course, but there's something about seeing a layout on paper that makes more sense to me. The market nearby is always buzzing, so there's plenty of noise coming in from the street, especially during the festival seasons. It makes the day feel lively. I started this consultancy because I liked solving problems, and that’s still what we do. It’s not a shiny corporate firm. Our office has stacks of old projects in the corner and the tea guy knows exactly how we like our drinks. We don't have a big marketing budget or a team of people trying to sell our services. Most of our work comes from people who have heard about us from others in the bazaar. We just take one project at a time and try to make sure the math is right and the plan is solid. It’s a quiet, steady way to work in a very loud part of the city, and it keeps us busy enough.
