Naroda Industries Association (NIA) was established in the year 1968. The objective of Naroda GIDC Industrial Association is to provide community and support to its 700 plus members. The industries are mainly located in the Naroda Industrial Estate. Naroda Industries Association addresses the problems and needs of industries that fall under the Naroda GIDC.

Prominent Features

In 1964, the Naroda GIDC was established first in the country GIDC. The purpose of Naroda GIDC is to encourage and spread entrepreneurship attitude among the trading Sector, mainly in Small Scale Industries (SSI) sector. The Estate measures 337 hectares and houses, 689 plots, and 426 sheds. Naroda GIDC also has housing colonies for the convenience of workers and owners. The Estate is self-sufficient with all the infrastructural facilities such as water supply, roads, street lights, telephone exchange, post office, hospitals, canteens, and a police station, Naroda Industrial Association is taking care of all these facilities. There are around Thirty-One types of classified industries in Naroda GIDC Estate namely dyes, dye-intermediates, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, engineering, foundry, agrochemicals, textiles electronics, etc.

Naroda Industries Association is a support body formed for Naroda GIDC Estate. The association is managed by a team of officials elected by the members, once in two years.

(the first business startup of Shri Dhirubhai Ambani was at GIDC Naroda), Havmor Ice Cream Ltd, Ingersoll Rand India Ltd., Dresser-Rand India Ltd – Siemens India Ltd. Edelweiss Precious Metals Ltd, Dishman Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Appu edible oils & spices, and many more who are known internationally.

Environment-Friendly zone at Naroda Industries Association (NIA)

Naroda GIDC is an environment-friendly industry zone, is working on various programs for balancing the environmental pollution caused by industrial activities. Waste Museum at Paryavaran Mandir - TSDF (Hazardous Waste) Site have developed “Waste Museum". A first of its kind in the world where nearly 1500 industrial units of hazardous waste will be displayed showing characteristics, quantity, and name of the generator to encourage Industrial Symbiosis to reduce the dumping of waste on land and creating products and to support the vision of our Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi to make Gujarat free of waste by 2021 when he was Chief Minister of Gujarat.
